Renovation and Expansion Project of Beijing Fine Art Academy

Beijing Fine Art Academy (BFAA) is located on the road on the south side of Chaoyang Park. The north side is opposite to Chaoyang Park. Beijing Fine Art Academy is a three-bay courtyard surrounded by two-to-three-story buildings, with rich space and pleasant scale. The courtyard on north side will be retained and the dilapidated building on the south side will be demolished for new construction.

This design gives considerations to the fact that BFAA as a place that integrates creation, teaching and communication should have its unique place characteristics. Standing in the academy, we should feel comfortable, quiet, subtle and intriguing atmosphere, and experience the dialogue and integration with nature. Such an environment can not only inspire the artist's creative inspiration, promote dialogue and communication between people, but also reflect the unique humanistic temperament of BFAA. Therefore, on the premise of respecting and continuing the history of BFAA, we put forward the design concept of "garden making". Taking the idea first, through the concept extraction, technique integration, material and structure processing, the realm of poetry and painting is reflected in the actual scene, so as to further achieve the creation of landscape and artistic conception, and promote the exchange between man and nature.
