This project is the main venue for the Second Garden Expo in Hebei Province. The project is located at the foot of Qiyun Mountain, and the site selection breaks the conventional idea of placing the main venue on the main axis of the conference and forms a relatively independent main exhibition hall. This kind of exhibition hall and garden combination style featured with gardens outside gardens not only considers the spatial rhythm experience of visiting and sightseeing during the garden expo, but also serves as a landmark starting point. It integrates the comprehensive use and development of Qiyun Mountain area after the garden expo to the greatest extent, achieving the combination of exhibition hall and garden and meeting the purpose of sustainable utilization.
The main exhibition hall architectural concept is taken from the progressive landscape-level buildings of the Chinese Royal Garden. Themed as finding emerald green trees and plants and entering the painting scene, the main exhibition hall forms a series of spatial levels on the main axis. The thick façade of the main exhibition hall opens a horizontal view frame. Behind the wall, the white glass wall of the building becomes a canvas, with the shadows of trees dancing in the breeze, beautiful paintings visible in the wall. Through the colored glaze in different shades and the graded lattice of the glass, a rhythm like Chinese style cloudscape pattern is created in the corridor around the atrium. People walk in the clouds, and the clouds float among the trees.
